Happy Birthday Bob!

According to THIS, and THIS the Bob haircut is 100 years old!

"The eye-catching cut was invented in 1909 by Parisian hairdresser Antoine de Paris, whose inspiration was Joan of Arc."

Check out this video of Antione de Paris in the 1940's. Is that fake hair?

Fabric Curlers on Crafter

I love Craftster. There are so many great and inspiring projects on there. I love the Fabric Curlers that made it into the Best of 2008 (and the Life with Monkey post that inspired them.) These are so much cuter than the foam ones I have from CVS, I'm definitely going to put these on my craft list.

Vintage Hairstyles at The Sophisticate's Diary

Check out the Vintage Hairstyles at The Sophisticate's Diary. Most of the images and instructions are taken from "Creative Hairshaping and Hairstyling You Can Do" by Ivan of Hollywood, which is the book that Daniela Turudich's 1940's Hairstyles seems to get most of its material from.

She Bobbed Her Hair! The Story of Irene Castle

Irene Castle bobbed her hair before it became a flapper trend. She is credited it starting the trend in America. Since this was written in the 30's about a hair style popular in the 20's that Irene Castle had in the 10's, this post is unique in having 3 different decade tags.
