How women's bodies have been transformed in the past 60 years...
This article from the Daily Mail which compares bodies from the 50's to today's is an interesting read.

Why is it that everytime an article like this is published, they COMPLETELY skip over womens undergarments and the general sit of clothing over the decades? They had WAISTS because everything they wore fit in the waist, not the hips. Your waist was formed by your dress, as well as your long-line bra/girdle/waist cincher/corset/whathaveyou. Today, we wear low rise pants, low rise underwear, very small bras in comparison. That was a HUGE contributor to body shape.

Weird, thats my numbers except for the shoe size!

Rueby makes a fair point, but, at the same time, surely measurements were taken minus such shaping undergarments?
It's still a very interesting article - especially shoe size! That's what I find most bizarre.

Size 3??? Am I the only person who finds that freakishly small for an average shoe size?

I have the feet! he he! But then again, I'm not your average size, 4"10.

Rueby said what I was thinking. Not only that, but please keep in mind that if you're wearing shapewear/corsets every day, it will change the shape of your waist while it's off as well as when it's on. Your waist *will be smaller* if you wear a corset every day, even if only by a small amount. That's kind of how they work, is moving things around and training your muscles and everything to fit its shape.

Article was written about women in Europe not America, hence the size 3 shoe size. Look up article. Plus we have more money now and are more independent than back then and women should not be judged by the size of their waist. This article serves no purpose but to give useless information and only perpetuates the stereotype of what men think women should look like even though it was written by a woman - we are not our mothers or grandmothers.
