I think I may try this on my hair this weekend!

Beauty,
Thanks for the fun blog!

I love vintage hairstyles - and I think I love the 40's best of all. But it looks like so much work to create these looks!

I'm curious if you've tried some of these yourself?

Sarsaparilla - I've tried some of the simpler techniques, but many of these hairstyles require a second set of hands or a very skilled hairdresser.

Little Messy Missy - I'd love to see your hair if it comes out.

These look fabulous ~ but for our 21st century culture of "less is best" as in the less work the better for hairstyles, it would be absolutely critical to find a stylist who loves to do, and is very GOOD at doing, pin curls! These died out a long time back, with the little old ladies who used to get their hair done every week, and the blue/lavender/pink rinse once a month. Most stylists, once they leave cosmetology school, vow never to touch another pin curl again for as long as they live! (This according to my stylist, who is quite skilled at everything she does, which just happens to include pin curls, finger waves, and 20's and 30's styles!) I would love dearly to be able to adopt a 40's vibe hairstyle-wise, but even though I grew up putting my own hair in plastic rollers and pin curls myself every night before school (and sleeping on them!), unfortunately work-related shoulder damage, age and impatience with my own hairstyle are keeping that from happening these days!
But, I can read about them, through your blog which I just discovered via a Pinterest post of 40's hairstyles, and can already tell I will enjoy very much! This is great! Thanks!
